Here at Move & Nourish, we also run a series of events across the year, including:

The events are currently held in the United Kingdom (primarily in Worcestershire) but there are plans to expand to other locations – both within the UK and abroad –  in 2016 and beyond!!

Practical Meditations with Nigel.
One Year. 365 Meditations.

We’re delighted to announce that on Monday 1 May 2017, we will begin our journey together through a series of daily meditations over the course of the next 12 months. One Year. 365 Meditations.

How does it work?

Our very own Nigel Lowson has designed an amazing 12 month meditation course which can be accessed via your computer, tablet or smartphone 24/7. Meditation accessible any place, any time.

From Monday 1 May, we will send a weekly email straight to your inbox. Each weekly email has a short outline from Nigel with a direct link to each meditation that week. These links will take you to an audio of around 10 minutes. All you have to do is click, listen and away you go, into yourself! You can access each meditation whenever and wherever you choose!

Why is meditation important?

Quite simply, meditation is awesome! It has numerous benefits including reducing stress, improving happiness and increasing focus. With regular practice, meditation can give you a profound sense of gratefulness and calmness as well as a more positive outlook on life!

Move & Nourish: A Weekend of Health & Happiness – June 2016

We are absolutely delighted to announce that we will be running our next event: Move & Nourish: A Weekend of Health & Happiness in June 2016 – designed to get your body & mind HAPPY, HEALTHY and FULL OF POSITIVITY!

We will be running the event on two consecutive days:

* Saturday 25th June and
* Sunday 26th June.

Each day will begin at 10am and finish at approximately 4pm (with plenty of additional time for those who wish to stay behind to continue to speak with Nigel and Aimie).

What does each day involve?

Each day will consist of the four core elements of Move & Nourish – Functional Fitness, Meditation, Nutrition & 3D Yoga. The day will include:

1. A Functional Fitness group session with personal trainer Aimie.

2. A series of practical Meditation sessions throughout the day with Nigel to calm, relax and focus mind & body.

3. A 2-course Nourishing lunch and an afternoon food demonstration – full of helpful & inspiring tips to share with the whole family.

4. A 3D Yoga session with Aimie to conclude the day.

The day is suitable for ALL fitness levels and will be an active, engaging and energising day!

How much does it cost?

The cost is just £75 per person for the day and there is a discount of £15 off the total cost if you wish to attend both days = £135. Please note that each day will follow a similar format but the exercises, sessions and food demonstrations will differ to allow those attending both days a new experience!

Spaces will be limited so each person attending can enjoy a personal experience on the day and individual guidance from Nigel & Aimie. Places will be allocated on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Fortnightly Meditations via Zoom!

We now offer regular, practical and easy to follow meditations every second Monday to help you start, develop and continue your meditation practice!

So why should you join us on Zoom for online mediations?

Well, we’re absolutely passionate about spreading the amazing benefits of regular meditation to as many people as possible and believe that regular practice can lead to numerous, hugely positive benefits, including:

  • Reducing stress
  • Increasing relaxation
  • Helping you become more positive
  • Increasing your concentration
  • Giving you a greater clarity of thought
  • Providing you with more vitality for life
  • Improving your self-confidence and
  • Developing numerous health benefits, like reducing the frequency and intensity of headaches, muscle tension etc.

So why doesn’t everyone meditate? (A good question we think!)

We appreciate that some people aren’t really aware of what meditation is. Others know about it but don’t know how to get started and some have got started, loved it but struggle to keep it up. Regular meditation can be difficult to maintain, particularly without any support.

So Nigel had a thought: what about doing regular, practical and easy to follow meditations online for people to join in as and when they can? Why don’t we, as Move & Nourish, provide that consistency and support for others to help them with their meditation practice? A gentle nudge if you will.

And so from that initial thought, we’ve been busy putting together plans for an easy to use, fun way of meeting online on a regular basis to help encourage, develop and support meditation for you lovely people!

What is involved?

We will be hosting fortnightly meditations, hosted by our very own Nigel, on a Monday night at 8pm. Each session will be a maximum of 15-20 minutes during which Nigel will talk briefly about a topic of interest and then lead a 5-10 meditation on it. Quick, simple and easy to fit into your busy schedules.

The first five sessions will be held on the following dates:

  • Monday 25th April 2016
  • Monday 9th May 2016
  • Monday 23rd May 2016
  • Monday 6th June 2016 and
  • Monday 20th June 2016

And that’s it. Simple, easy, (hopefully) extremely rewarding and we might even have some fun along the way!

How can I get involved?

All you have to do is email [email protected] with the subject line: “Fortnightly Meditations” and we will send you more details. You will also be sent an invite to the next session with a simply link to click on. A couple of minutes before the session, click on the link from your computer, tablet or smartphone and you will be taken to our online event, hosted by the brilliant Zoom. You can choose to have your camera on or turn it off but either way, Nigel will host and welcome everyone before getting started!

It’s a brilliant, interactive and enjoyable way of getting together on a regular basis from the comfort of your own home! Result.

How much does it cost?

For Move & Nourish members, this new feature is included in your membership so won’t cost you a single penny!

For those who haven’t subscribed (tut tut!), you have the option of paying £1 per session or £5 for 6 sessions. We want as many people as possible to join us so we always seek to make our events as affordable and accessible as possible!

Move & Nourish: A Weekend of Happiness & Health – March 2016

We had an absolutely brilliant time at our most recent event – Move & Nourish: A Weekend of Happiness & Health in March 2016 with 15 people attending over the two days.

The event took place on Saturday 19th March and Sunday 20th March in the beautiful Worcestershire countryside.

It was brilliant to see a mix of Move & Nourish regulars alongside some amazing new people and the energy across the weekend was extremely inspiring!

What did each day involve?

Each day consisted of the four core elements of Move & Nourish – Functional Fitness, Meditation, Nutrition & 3D Yoga, including:

1. A Functional Fitness group session with personal trainer Aimie.

2. A series of practical Meditation sessions throughout the day with Nigel to calm, relax and focus mind & body.

3. A 3-course Nourishing lunch and an afternoon food demonstration – full of helpful & inspiring tips to share with the whole family.

4. A 3D Yoga session with Aimie to conclude the day.

 

It was the first time we ran an event focusing on all 4 aspects of Move & Nourish and we were delighted that everyone felt that the combinations were extremely positive and beneficial and achievable for all fitness types! We will be using this format as the basis for our next event in June. Exciting times!

Move & Nourish: Our Free Meditation Series – March 2016

Back by popular demand, Move & Nourish will be hosting a second, incredible FREE mediation class on Friday 18th March at 6pm (the session will last approximately 1 hour). The session is part of a series of events run by Move & Nourish and will be led by the brilliant Nigel Lowson.

With over 25 years experience he is an incredible inspiration and will share his love for mindfulness, health & happiness with you. His energy is contagious and it definitely an evening not to be missed! It is a great opportunity to sample or develop your meditation practice in an informal, friendly atmosphere. All are very welcome!

The event will be hosted at our Move & Nourish studio in Worcester (WR3) and further details are available on request via email or through our Eventbrite page. (Booking your spot is absolutely free too!).

After the popularity (and tight squeeze) of February’s free meditation event, we are limiting the numbers to 20 so please book your spot to avoid disappointment (we had 25 attend last time with 5 days’ notice so these spots will go quickly). Finally, if possible, please bring your own chair to ensure maximum comfort for all.

Aimie’s Tasty Tuesdays

Aimie’s food demo ‘Tasty Tuesday’ is a relaxed, interactive and very fun event. She will guide you through several healthy, nutritious courses (including some amazing, raw-some desserts) and provide you with lots of hints & tips to get you motivated! The food prepared is also suitable for:

  • vegetarian, vegan and raw diets
  • coeliacs and
  • anyone suffering from:
    • sugar intolerances
    • dairy intolerances
    • IBS
    • Crohn’s Disease and
    • psoriasis.

We will put some photos & videos up from each event to showcase the fantastic evenings – full of delicious, healthy & nourishing food in a fantastically fun & upbeat atmosphere! A real highlight in our calendar!

Relaxation Day – An Introduction to Meditation & Relaxation Techniques

Our Relaxation Day offers a series of meditation exercises & relaxation techniques combined with some gentle stretches and yoga poses to enable you to better cope with the stresses of everyday life and implement lasting and meaningful changes to get some calm in your life and get some control!

After two hugely successful and positive Relaxation Days in July & September, we will be organising a further weekend for early 2016!

Healing Chakras – A Practical Introduction

Our Chakra Day starts by looking at what chakras are, how they relate to the production of hormones and how the system of energy flow in the body works. We then examine each of the major chakras in turn. For each we consider their role in the body, the qualities associated with each and what to look out for when considering their health. We then look at what to do to help, heal or cleanse each chakra so that it vibrates at the correct level to improve the energy flow. The day is full of interesting discussion and interaction as well a great deal of laughter and enjoyment!

In addition, a delicious and fantastically healthy two-course lunch is provided along with a green smoothie on arrival and refreshments being available throughout the day. All the food and drink is freshly prepared, alkaline, vegetarian & vegan friendly and is suitable for those who have coeliac disease, suffer from psoriasis and IBS as well as being lactose and sugar-free!!
